Coaches have a role to play in redesigning the future. The biggest existential threat facing us is self-designed as a result of the systems we human beings have created around us. We may be coaching in industries which may not exist in a decade or two or be almost unrecognisable. Are we ready to adapt and be there to partner our clients and all their stakeholders as they move into the ESG world: environmentally conscious, socially responsible and with good governance?

The good news then, is that together we can change the system by our collective endeavour towards redesigning to restore and regenerate our earth. The starting point is understanding what and who we serve as practitioners, what the future we would like to hand over to future generations looks like, and therefore what we need to do individually and collectively to make that future a reality.

We will explore some of the pressing assumptions that can prevent us seeing things as they are. Shining a light into corners that we typically avoid helps us step into greater integrity and lean into our roles as leaders in our own lives and catalysts when working with others.

Bio

Eve Turner is an award-winning coach, supervisor, and writer who is a leading contributor to industry research and actively engaged in pro bono work. Chair of another leading professional body, APECS (The Association for Professional Coaching and Supervision), she is also on the EMCC Global Ethics WorkGroup, is an EMCC accredited supervisor, co-founded the Climate Coaching Alliance, and founded and leads the Global Supervisors’ Network. Eve‘s writing includes several chapters and two co-authored publications: Turner, E. and Palmer, S. (2019) ‘The Heart of Coaching Supervision – Working with Reflection and Self-Care’ and Hawkins, P. and Turner, E. (2020) ‘Systemic Coaching – delivering value beyond the individual’ which considers Earth as a stakeholder.

Alison Whybrow is an experienced facilitator, coach, coach supervisor, and consultant. As a Chartered, Registered, and Coaching Psychologist she has spent 20 years focusing on building individual and organisational capability. She works with organisations across a range of sectors and was deeply involved in the early development of the coaching profession. Alison is an editor for peer reviewed coaching publications, authors papers, chapters, and books aligned to her work. Always learning, Alison describes herself as a possiblist, seeing disruption as a catalyst for transformation and hopeful that a kinder human-earth story can arise.
